My early years in Public Relations were spent in Government, the Non-Profit Sector and with several Fortune 100 companies. This managerial "Apprenticeship" gave me valuable, broad-gauge experience. Yet, when I established The Pires Group in 1986, I elected not to be "all things to all people." Rather, I opted to specialize by drawing on my strengths. It's a decision that served me well. The Pires Group's specialties are: Public Relations Marketing; Strategic Philanthropy; and Emergency Communication. Where the latter two areas are concerned, we did some of the early work in the field.

In fact, many of our public presentations, commissioned research and print articles remain as part of the profession's Body of Knowledge.

I intend to continue consulting in those three areas, which, while chosen 32 years ago, have only become more relevant.
